Kilenc éve indítottam útjára a Jogi Fórum adatvédelmi mellékletét, az ország első információs jogokkal foglalkozó internetes oldalát. Átmeneti – más elfoglaltságaimmal kapcsolatos – pihenő után most megújítjuk az oldalt.
Nine years ago I launched the Data Protection Pages of the legal information portal Jogi Fórum – this was the first site dedicated to information rights in the country. My obligations as data protection commissioner had diverted my attention from the page; but now it is the time to update the site.
Jelenleg fontos időket élünk az adatvédelmi és információszabadság-jog megújulása szempontjából. Az Európai Bizottság már lassan egy éve közzétette reformcsomagját, amely körül azóta is folyik a vita, és végül remélhetőleg elvezet majd egy új, egységesebb európai adatvédelmi szabályozáshoz. A magyar adatvédelmi jog történetében kevésbé dicsőséges napokat írunk. A számos ponton kritizálható Infotv. megoldásai problémákat okoznak a jogkövetőknek, az Európai Bíróság előtt pedig eljárás folyik a felügyelő hatóság függetlenségével kapcsolatban. Öröm viszont az, hogy hatékony állami felügyelet hiányában a civil szféra szereplői vették át – természetesen a számukra szabott korlátok között
- az adatvédelem és az információszabadság ügyének képviseletét
(külön érdemes kiemelni az atlatszo.hu portál egyszerű adatigénylést lehetővé tévő kimittud rendszerét).
Témában tehát nem lesz hiány. Célom, hogy az érdeklődő olvasó a közölt írásokon keresztül mindekor hű képet kapjon az informatikai jog e kihívásokkal, változásokkal teli területéről.

These are interesting times for a data protection professional. A year has almost passed since the European Commission published its plans for a comprehensive reform of the European data protection system. Debates have been underway since then, and the project will hopefully result in a new, more uniform set of data protection rules in the continent. The situation in Hungary is somewhat worse: the allegedly „new” data protection act is causing problems for data controllers due to its outdated provisions, and the infringement action started by the Commission over the lack of independence of the Hungarian data protection authority has ended up in the European Court of Justice. The lack of an efficient supervisory system, fortunately, has been remedied to a certain extent by the efforts of the local NGO community (particularly interesting is the system kimittud facilitating the submission of FOI requests, developed by atlatszo.hu).
There are many topics to discuss – my goal is to give the visitor accurate and up to date info on the developments of international and Hungarian privacy and freedom of information law.
