Judge Patel admitted on Friday that she was powerless to stop copyright infringement on Napster. With users regularly changing file and musician names, Napster's filtering process is unable to identify thousands of songs.
The judge invited the RIAA to return to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to clarify the court's earlier decision.
